Who Are We?

Ever since its foundation in 1927, the Leicester Walking Club has been the main racewalking club in Leicester and the surrounding area. We currently have around 60 members ranging from 8 years old to 80+.

The object of the club is quite simply “The Promotion of Racewalking”. We do this through a variety of means including introducing new people to the sport, coaching and development, staging races etc.

Above all we are a very friendly group of amateur sports people who take part in racewalking for a variety of reasons, from just keeping fit and healthy - through friendly competition - right up to international athletic competition.

When and Where?

Group training sessions are held at various times on weekday evenings and at weekends either at our clubhouse in Haynes Road or at the Saffron Lane Sports Centre. Different groups have a different emphasis (e.g. Juniors, serious seniors, fun / fitness etc.).

Times of some sessions will vary throughout the year so please contact us for the latest information.
